<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I'm sharing a mommy and me pajama set. I know that I have shared my shorts before but when my daughter say them she just has to have a pair too :) And what are matching shorts without matching tops?? My daughter is in this phase where she wants all of her clothes to match mine (so cute!!). </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkIQliCNN1k6Ch4h5qUM33ZgkyHjctqp_02XtXN_1gC_b4YIM5xb39B-J0ixuV6XBAxZlV5tNST70dMhzUNLF-qb0Sg4m-Sq7dwv5KOO7lIvIs_XH1bXwOBZBAzVhQ3xALLTix8O95EQY/s1600/IMG_2259.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkIQliCNN1k6Ch4h5qUM33ZgkyHjctqp_02XtXN_1gC_b4YIM5xb39B-J0ixuV6XBAxZlV5tNST70dMhzUNLF-qb0Sg4m-Sq7dwv5KOO7lIvIs_XH1bXwOBZBAzVhQ3xALLTix8O95EQY/s640/IMG_2259.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Both sets are made using Rifle Paper Co for Cotton + Steel cotton lawn. I've had this stashed away for a while now and I figured I better start using it up before flamingoes are out of style. My shorts are the <a href="https://store.closetcasepatterns.com/products/carolyn-pajama-sewing-pattern" target="_blank">Closet Case patterns Carolyn pajama</a> set. My daughter's shorts are the free <a href="https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2014/07/24/corinnes-thread-city-gym-shorts-for-all-ages/" target="_blank">City Gym short pattern from Purl Soho</a>. I used pre-made bias to save on time. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Our tops are the <a href="http://shop.truebias.com/product/ogden-cami" target="_blank">Ogden cami</a> and the <a href="http://shop.truebias.com/product/mini-ogden-cami" target="_blank">mini Ogden</a> cami by True Bias. For the half lining I used a cream colored lawn that I had in my stash. You can see it a bit through the flamingo print but since they are for pjs I was ok with it. We definitely have more of the Ogden camis in our future. I can't wait to sew one up in a lovely rayon or silk.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hi there and happy October! This post has been a long time coming. We had a crazy couple of weeks around here with a case of the croup, a bully at school, broken lawn mower and broken toilet ugh! Most of that is behind us now thankfully :) Anyway I am so excited to share this pair of <a href="https://sewhouse7.com/collections/alberta-skirt/products/burnside-bibs" target="_blank">Burnisde Bibs</a> with you. The pattern is from <a href="https://sewhouse7.com/" target="_blank">Sewhouse Seven</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1cAPWqkiUUHhi0oXLlg7G6szyuAXHUUAFpzpAp5rHxXmpDbgLSaftvvjMyr7qfF2o-MouVl-bfMH1_xGbPK7PnoSUhqJnfSau5KWxOyg8iHX5rBSTTQoTDGjbqEQOHc5adO6eP0SX0J0/s1600/IMG_2235.jpg" imageanchor="1"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigw4nlOSYp3STgxW9d_aZnaOKpmyN_Y6wMhClTY0_kEI1ln-KZWddoccsS9eIYrDVCILdbjP1266wMYejF-iTTSbTaIM4Q8-epuaxXcEMY2btsEZelBhOYbNXGp2lecImdqncl3faQfmQ/s1600/IMG_2230.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigw4nlOSYp3STgxW9d_aZnaOKpmyN_Y6wMhClTY0_kEI1ln-KZWddoccsS9eIYrDVCILdbjP1266wMYejF-iTTSbTaIM4Q8-epuaxXcEMY2btsEZelBhOYbNXGp2lecImdqncl3faQfmQ/s1600/IMG_2230.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I opted to sew up version1 which it more fitted and includes an invisible zipper. I made a straight size 2 with no alterations or modifications aside for some extra top stitching. I used a 100% linen fabric that I found at my local Joann store.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1cAPWqkiUUHhi0oXLlg7G6szyuAXHUUAFpzpAp5rHxXmpDbgLSaftvvjMyr7qfF2o-MouVl-bfMH1_xGbPK7PnoSUhqJnfSau5KWxOyg8iHX5rBSTTQoTDGjbqEQOHc5adO6eP0SX0J0/s1600/IMG_2235.jpg" imageanchor="1"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFn0HWi-LpSyFv3OrijCnirJgeCNN2v5_T_s-Czul97_MfVVJMqRTMD3MjdRBZ8kMhyTW2xOCNcrAGmbDBlq73UAfJBkrzxxALmscsGTBdjeHyDT4c8m0yvuwuRDGskt1XiHwM7plX528/s1600/IMG_2238.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFn0HWi-LpSyFv3OrijCnirJgeCNN2v5_T_s-Czul97_MfVVJMqRTMD3MjdRBZ8kMhyTW2xOCNcrAGmbDBlq73UAfJBkrzxxALmscsGTBdjeHyDT4c8m0yvuwuRDGskt1XiHwM7plX528/s1600/IMG_2238.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
These came together much quicker than I was expecting (which is good because my mom has already requested a pair). I'm thinking of a full length in a rust color for me for fall and winter too.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu1zw75HKpo730zDXPrWvQni_tvc0Cntb8UKyQhYHvPZgO_UGfTldAKwVzELJyDkYzQQmLcyE4CVIU8De1gBerGNypi35QV_iqSOxA1VrDAORfOpYz_yHmkppjsDaTPaXyF-B3HZSCCb8/s1600/IMG_2080.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu1zw75HKpo730zDXPrWvQni_tvc0Cntb8UKyQhYHvPZgO_UGfTldAKwVzELJyDkYzQQmLcyE4CVIU8De1gBerGNypi35QV_iqSOxA1VrDAORfOpYz_yHmkppjsDaTPaXyF-B3HZSCCb8/s640/IMG_2080.jpg" width="412" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is the <a href="https://megannielsen.com/collections/tops/products/dove" target="_blank">Dove Blouse</a> by Megan Nielsen sewn up in a Nani Iro double gauze (I'm trying to use my good stuff for once). I sewed up version 1 in XS. Since I'm smaller than the 34" bust this is drafted for it is a little bit big especially towards the back and under my arms. In retrospect I should have accounted for this before jumping in and sewing but it really doesn't bother me too much.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

This is a super quick satisfying sew. There are two other options with flared sleeves which really dress up this top. I'm a little more casual so I opted not to add those.</div>

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!! I have been sewing like crazy :) I spent the first part of the year focusing on getting my portfolio beefed up and ready to send out (it is!!), making a <a href="http://skl.sh/2umYxY0" target="_blank">skillshare class</a> and not doing much sewing at all. Now that those are complete I have the urge to sew everything!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxSNClCTJ0hqdtUZE8qx5p25t_fHNt_05OicUUlCvktt7SAX0I9z_ddVvuViVmzStA8BBaascQBNqsbJPOAxrUar7Bll9tm1YNh6FN49EGLR7lD93kuLvQPpUmuRoBlpf9fhk-hNSZ8ng/s1600/IMG_2071.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxSNClCTJ0hqdtUZE8qx5p25t_fHNt_05OicUUlCvktt7SAX0I9z_ddVvuViVmzStA8BBaascQBNqsbJPOAxrUar7Bll9tm1YNh6FN49EGLR7lD93kuLvQPpUmuRoBlpf9fhk-hNSZ8ng/s640/IMG_2071.jpg" width="440" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the <a href="https://grainlinestudio.com/product-tag/hadley/" target="_blank">Hadley pattern by Grainline Studio</a>. I sewed up view B with no modifications. I used some Nani Iro double gauze fabric purchased from <a href="https://shop.missmatatabi.com/collections/all?constraint=nani-iro" target="_blank">Miss Matatabi</a> about a year ago. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I made a size 2 (my bust is 32.5). I just love how this top hangs with the high low hem. The arm holes are so perfect, not too low. The v in front is a little lower than I would normally wear but I really like it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKTmdC1D9MYRA6cp8xFijNhapzL2EjXZdVoO6buZ8wv3d3RwQbiWuEWLAAoV2Q3RIEtZ8lHpPv6CU2-zb9MXZynjXEezuEeHurhTMfSBOA2mDP3p_ie-pYajgnysBlI34lUV5jjGZyxoo/s1600/IMG_2070.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKTmdC1D9MYRA6cp8xFijNhapzL2EjXZdVoO6buZ8wv3d3RwQbiWuEWLAAoV2Q3RIEtZ8lHpPv6CU2-zb9MXZynjXEezuEeHurhTMfSBOA2mDP3p_ie-pYajgnysBlI34lUV5jjGZyxoo/s640/IMG_2070.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The neck, arm holes and hem are all faced which gives such a nice clean look on the outside. I have a few other things planned to sew but may revisit this pattern soon to try view A. All in all this is a really great pattern and sews up so quickly.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First up, I made two leotards out of the fabulous knits. The pattern is the <a href="https://lilluxecollection.com/collections/girls-pdf-patterns/products/alley-cat-romper-dress-leotard" target="_blank">Alley Cat romper and leotard</a> by Lil Luxe Collection. It is a nice quick sew and oh so cute!! I used the <a href="http://liveartgalleryfabrics.com/portfolio/k-31400-aquarelle-study-tint/" target="_blank">Aquarelle Study in Tint</a> for this one.</div>

The top is super sweet with the flutter sleeves, cowl neck and front tie. I went ahead and made a 5 for her to have a little room to grow. The leggings are the <a href="https://megannielsen.com/collections/childrens/products/mini-virginia-leggings" target="_blank">Mini Virginia leggings</a> by Megan Nielsen. I have a hard time with leggings that fit my daughter and these are the best. Most are way baggy on her and too short (even RTW). I made her the 4/5 and added an inch to the length. They are a teeny bit baggy but I did want growing room for her.</div>

Last but definitely not least is this sweet little outfit. The overalls are the <a href="http://www.petitapetitandfamily.com/shop/the-loveralls-skirt" target="_blank">Loveralls skirt</a> by Petit a Petit + Family. I used the <a href="http://liveartgalleryfabrics.com/portfolio/c-21400-aquarelle-study-wash/" target="_blank">Aquarelle Study Canvas</a>. Summer is flying by faster than I can handle right now! Everything is good though :) We signed my daughter up for summer camp to prepare her for kindergarten, she has been in preschool but just a couple times a week. Summer camp was every day and boy did it tire her out!! She really had a blast though. We were also fortunate enough to have my mom come and stay for three whole weeks!! It was amazing. We did all sort of crafty things and mostly just hung out and talked. It was the best!!<br />
<br />
One of the things we sewed up was pj shorts for each of us.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2AtDhG5pDBIMV5d5FMYSpWpAulsEdqyB2rBb5G-en1-QrV6rCMoIqwK_eVHjg1wGRvEjJpBq14oddzu-JDp1RYBsgM6I6Xmwxo-tBfiMRcYgzqo2HYVtKxIdzJ_wy9waC3wHF26sKQ34/s1600/IMG_9662.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2AtDhG5pDBIMV5d5FMYSpWpAulsEdqyB2rBb5G-en1-QrV6rCMoIqwK_eVHjg1wGRvEjJpBq14oddzu-JDp1RYBsgM6I6Xmwxo-tBfiMRcYgzqo2HYVtKxIdzJ_wy9waC3wHF26sKQ34/s640/IMG_9662.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I apologize for the crummy phone pic and lack of modeled photos lol. They are both flamingo prints one is a Charley Harper double gauze (mom's) and the other is Rifle Paper Co. for Cotton + Steel cotton lawn (mine). We used the <a href="https://store.closetcasepatterns.com/products/carolyn-pajama-sewing-pattern" target="_blank">Carolyn Pajama Pattern</a> by Closet Case Files. Everything sewed up super smoothly and they are so so comfy. I may go up a size on my next pair just because I do like my pjs roomy (these fit perfectly fine though). <br />
<br />
I also made this giant flower crown for my daughter just for fun :)<br />

Have a great day!!Corrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05962546365667412808noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899802854266348.post-89407830631204209162017-07-05T14:26:00.000-07:002017-07-05T14:26:12.573-07:00Happy (belated) New Year!!!Hi friends!! I'm getting a slow start to the year yikes! I ended last year having some thoughts, revelations, and maybe an identity crisis. Well maybe not quite that dramatic. Anyway, I kind of have a new plan and goals set out which is exciting and maybe a little bit scary. I don't think I've ever mentioned anything here but my background is in art and graphic design. I'm wanting to move more back in that direction. I struggle a little because I do still want to sew my heart out and knit and basically all the things!! There's only so much time in each day though. <br />
<br />
I will still be sewing probably mainly apparel. I have kind of outlined what I'd like to focus on sewing this year. I want to really make things that I wear so basics like t-shirts, jeans, bras and undies. I'm also working on beefing up my design portfolio to get that out in the world (cross your fingers and toes!). <br />
<br />
So, I had originally planned on posting this back in January but for some reason I never did. My thoughts and goals are still the same and I've spent the last 6 months really focusing on design. I have a portfolio that I am actively sending out :) And . . . . I made a skillshare class!<br />
<br />
You can find it <a href="http://skl.sh/2umYxY0" target="_blank">here</a>. It's all about starting illustrations on the iPad pro in Adobe Draw and cleaning them up in Illustrator. Right now skillshare is offering 2 free months when you sign up through that link too!<br />
<br />

<br />
I have some sewing to share later on this week too! My mom has been visiting for almost three weeks so we've been having fun and taking things slow :)<br />
<br />
I hope you're having a great summer!!Corrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05962546365667412808noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899802854266348.post-62449881692971709972016-11-17T14:47:00.001-08:002016-11-17T14:48:21.088-08:00Halloween!!<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
Good Afternoon!! I cannot believe how fast time is moving this year! I'm finally getting around to sharing the Halloween costume that I made for my daughter. She love love loves the movie Coraline and wanted to be her for Halloween. I tried letting her know that its not the newest movie and most of her classmates probably won't know who she is, but my sweet little girl didn't care one bit and just HAD to be Coraline. She especially wanted to wear the outfit with the stars that the Other Mother gives to Coraline. Silly me I agreed thinking it would be so easy to find a sparkly blue sweater and just pop some stars on there. Boy was I wrong lol. I searched high and low and came up with nothing suitable. Not wanting to disappoint my daughter I found <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/coraline-star-sweater" target="_blank">this</a> pattern on Ravelry. I ordered up some yarn and began knitting.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After I got the sweater knitted we found some velour at Joann that I sprayed with a silver glitter fabric spray. The stars I have to admit were the worst part and I honestly didn't think I would get them sewn on in time. I tried doing them the way the pattern instructs with interfacing and a teeny turn under for the appliqué but it was just not working. After spending all that time knitting I did not want to just glue some felt on or anything that would look cheap. What I ended up doing was scrapping the interfacing all together and turning under more like 1/4" when I did the appliqué. This worked fairly well (still took forever to stitch all those stars on though).</div>

For her boots I used an old black pair she wore last year as witch boots (I should share that costume sometime lol) and used a teal fabric paint to change the color. The boots soaked it up so it took a few coats. The dragonfly pin I made from some gold polymer clay and crystals we picked up at the craft store.</div>

For her hair we went with a blue spray. We did try a wig but my daughter said that it was too itchy. Last but not least the doll we found on amazon its an actual replica of the prop from the movie:) I also made my husband a Captain America costume but I'll share that another time. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Have a great day!!</div>

Good morning!! I am thrilled to be included in <a href="http://goinghometoroost.com/" target="_blank">Bonnie Christine's</a> <a href="http://liveartgalleryfabrics.com/hello-ollie/" target="_blank">Hello, Ollie</a> blog tour! I was so honored to be included among so many talented people to sew a few things for Bonnie's quilt market booth. Her latest collection was inspired by her sweet daughter Ollie. Additionally, Hello, Ollie is Art Gallery's first organic line of fabrics. The fabrics are all printed on GOTS certified organic cotton with eco friendly GOTS approved inks. The quality and feel is exactly what we've come to expect from Art Gallery.</div>

<br />
Ok, on to the projects!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtaKVk8KF7MfpDdiSZa06R3B65MryXZVRRcrq_8RY8L7FPIoSfcurmeRVt-dP8KrWmI2k25A9LtZ1YTVu6kvuydNd-AX61Ozo2a8nPPWzgNVQbo6FkjLNf9ACO6cRYsR3oKUWVEnlChZk/s1600/alice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtaKVk8KF7MfpDdiSZa06R3B65MryXZVRRcrq_8RY8L7FPIoSfcurmeRVt-dP8KrWmI2k25A9LtZ1YTVu6kvuydNd-AX61Ozo2a8nPPWzgNVQbo6FkjLNf9ACO6cRYsR3oKUWVEnlChZk/s640/alice.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The first item I made was the <a href="http://www.tessuti-shop.com/collections/digital-download-pattern-tops/products/alice-dress-top-pattern" target="_blank">Alice Dress</a> using Sweetly Sings in the glimmer colorway. This dress is a fairly fast and easy sew. I will say that I feel it runs pretty large so if you make one take that into consideration. Its a great easy style to wear.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4a1UTOtSWg6eAMaBJKS-9cMu8Q4rOZVR0IVT4V65QQHvAvl-JC3FCfP4dve143eE6NKTJBseDVMF0isg4t_KoTfwHyVGc_GYJf0VTYvaOuGcsnmLO77Btb7ExGHLBeXm_h-5G-uQlpuo/s1600/dottie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4a1UTOtSWg6eAMaBJKS-9cMu8Q4rOZVR0IVT4V65QQHvAvl-JC3FCfP4dve143eE6NKTJBseDVMF0isg4t_KoTfwHyVGc_GYJf0VTYvaOuGcsnmLO77Btb7ExGHLBeXm_h-5G-uQlpuo/s640/dottie.jpg" width="512" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The second item I made was the <a href="http://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-pattern-1080-misses-dress-or-tunic/1080.html" target="_blank">Dottie Angel Frock</a>. I used Swanlings Bevy in peach for the main fabric, the bottom is Feathered Fellow in lush, and the pockets are Winno Frock in charmed with Nested in roots for the bias. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMrxkQDbYUNfiRR9VxKi6NiHEwZLK8O7avJmptyQfDtxzmWZDTATGIhwppRb9wt1mDreL3c6nDb0tMr6ZAkPCV0DbEgeizLcJU7nrayL0J1K1V5HuQKHTXtBNsewtewpQYLsSzKqvRw4/s1600/pocketdetail.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMrxkQDbYUNfiRR9VxKi6NiHEwZLK8O7avJmptyQfDtxzmWZDTATGIhwppRb9wt1mDreL3c6nDb0tMr6ZAkPCV0DbEgeizLcJU7nrayL0J1K1V5HuQKHTXtBNsewtewpQYLsSzKqvRw4/s640/pocketdetail.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I think the pockets are my favorite part of the dress!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YRVOK8Q0nuki2f-kdFjq7-GydBL6qY17xYK5NlDYJ63F4ovenTgkK8aRXbqs-OuAHEZMQqaG9JueH41vCCphxGaRKmgjKDaYVAZfV5OH-ULV_GzEiePO2B03uYhtK8-ryyde9x3-lRQ/s1600/cargofront.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YRVOK8Q0nuki2f-kdFjq7-GydBL6qY17xYK5NlDYJ63F4ovenTgkK8aRXbqs-OuAHEZMQqaG9JueH41vCCphxGaRKmgjKDaYVAZfV5OH-ULV_GzEiePO2B03uYhtK8-ryyde9x3-lRQ/s640/cargofront.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Last but definitely not least, is the <a href="http://noodle-head.com/2013/10/cargo-duffle-pattern-for-robert-kaufman.html" target="_blank">cargo duffel</a>. I have to admit this bag is probably one of the favorite things I have ever made. I used Dabbling Swan in sage for the main part, Sweetly Sings in the glimmer for the bottom and handle accent, and Garden Grounds in dollop for the pockets and handle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxjlb51LrBAIMQ7XnKJDM8Wp3K24OC384wV3kXpk_xlZ0fYz19sLKrJjpdSXn5IG_TVxLXZ8ZVoq61jcIn5trfbTLKj3NVO9lK_vzujB3_DzE3J4hbQ94GGWhGoKR9NLbamFRtE8SMNz4/s1600/cargoinside.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxjlb51LrBAIMQ7XnKJDM8Wp3K24OC384wV3kXpk_xlZ0fYz19sLKrJjpdSXn5IG_TVxLXZ8ZVoq61jcIn5trfbTLKj3NVO9lK_vzujB3_DzE3J4hbQ94GGWhGoKR9NLbamFRtE8SMNz4/s640/cargoinside.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For the interior I used Swanlings bevy in nightfall and Meadow Dreams in lace for the binding. I love those sweet little eyes peeking at you when you look into the bag :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This sweet little shorties were made from some scraps from a dress I sewed for a friend's daughter this summer. I used the <a href="http://lilluxecollection.com/product/papillon-shorties/" target="_blank">Papillon Shorties</a> pattern by Lil Luxe collection. My daughter LOVES them!! They're so sweet and have pockets, pleats, and piping!Corrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05962546365667412808noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899802854266348.post-31685168090608473192016-10-21T09:23:00.001-07:002016-10-21T09:23:29.329-07:00Baby Boy Gifts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Recently one of my husbands childhood friends contacted me to make a few things for his new baby nephew. He pretty much gave me free reign which was fun! Since I have a girl and don't get a chance to make things for boys this was especially fun :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided to make 2 pieces. One for just everyday wear and one more of an special heirloom piece. For the 'heirloom' piece I went with a sweet little grandpa cardigan. I used the free <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-sophisticate-2" target="_blank">baby sophisticate</a> pattern.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9_xIxsovum2zHefeXHmjTLeWbtkD6QVeLEKmDBPoRdAanouKMynyHEdyqeZrhf3r8KWIRsla-x-Lafyc9PQTotanUTWQPjfopGR5lDDUCKuLmhyphenhyphenhhBKqBpoUZJdBeoM0F2UAAHagaXyM/s1600/IMG_6971.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9_xIxsovum2zHefeXHmjTLeWbtkD6QVeLEKmDBPoRdAanouKMynyHEdyqeZrhf3r8KWIRsla-x-Lafyc9PQTotanUTWQPjfopGR5lDDUCKuLmhyphenhyphenhhBKqBpoUZJdBeoM0F2UAAHagaXyM/s640/IMG_6971.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Its a nice pattern that comes together quickly and who doesn't love a baby in a little grandpa cardigan :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The second piece I made was the Brindle and Twig <a href="https://brindilletwig.com/collections/one-piece/products/harem-coverall-097" target="_blank">harem coverall</a>. I used some knit fabric I had in my stash (Hello Bear by <a href="http://goinghometoroost.com/" target="_blank">Bonnie Christine</a>). This sewed up extremely fast and is completely adorable. </div>

I'm back after a little hiatus. I took a little intentional break from social media and such. I'm sure we can all agree it gets to be overwhelming at times. We took a lovely family vacation to Hawaii at the end of September. It was really just so nice to get away. <br />
<br />
Anyway, since we've been back I've kind of gotten into sewing bras. I bought both of the <a href="http://www.simplicity.com/patterns/women/lingerie/" target="_blank">Simplicity patterns</a> that recently came out by the lovely <a href="http://www.madalynne.com/" target="_blank">Maddie</a>. There are a lot of supplies to source for bra making so I purchased a kit (makes things so much easier!!). I purchased my kits from <a href="http://tailor-made-shop.myshopify.com/collections/bra-kits" target="_blank">Tailor Made Shop</a>.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghSRxKZkNjHvL6LxOIojRgI6D6nI2eKPR3b9UugNPeaaXfifu5LOF1ZjZuPgJ00wzJmucpG0BJqY85pM3I1st9Wk-oa2KhUcYohhBjV1b7UuiwNFsHwReq-33FYcWS9Hal5mMY28svgo4/s1600/IMG_7654.JPG" imageanchor="1"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicZ5c-n787PRAcRq2E6EWObVwqfPbqpY3FAIgnslcZcUO0TXurEh2dog8wMIMtjVfGJtCrBDY0cGJuutheJ37DUDZIc1rakDT-8m1qxLGhgTtiFBUKP4BevK9RxoFSVl6dXrUry8lN-hc/s1600/IMG_7701.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicZ5c-n787PRAcRq2E6EWObVwqfPbqpY3FAIgnslcZcUO0TXurEh2dog8wMIMtjVfGJtCrBDY0cGJuutheJ37DUDZIc1rakDT-8m1qxLGhgTtiFBUKP4BevK9RxoFSVl6dXrUry8lN-hc/s640/IMG_7701.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
The pattern comes together extremely fast. The fit for me was pretty good right off the bat. I did however measure at a 32C but I found I do not like my bands quite that tight (I remembered this from a Watson bra I made ages ago). I ended up making the 34B and checking the size as I went and it ended up fitting almost perfectly. Going forward I think I'm going to shave just a little off of the top of the cup. I will say though these bras fit me better than anything I've ever purchased even without the tweaking.<br />
<br />

<br />
This black and white lace didn't have the pretty lace edge that the pattern calls for so I used picot elastic in the same manner that you do the sides and band. Easy peasy :) I hope you're all having a great start to autumn!! I have to put my bra making on hold here and work on making costumes!!Corrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05962546365667412808noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899802854266348.post-25812490743332790712016-07-29T13:21:00.002-07:002016-07-29T13:21:29.125-07:00Oh, summerJust popping in quick to say hi!! I hope everyone is having a good summer. We've been busy with family visits, gardening, searching out fairies in the yard and just plain old slowing down. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've also been busy working on a workshop I'm taking on <a href="https://www.skillshare.com/" target="_blank">Skillshare</a>. It's just finishing up today but I thought I'd share a little illustration done for it. It was taught by the lovely Bonnie Christine of <a href="http://goinghometoroost.com/" target="_blank">Going Home to Roost</a>. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Happy summer!!<br /><div>

Hi everyone!! Welcome to my stop on the Forest Floor Blog Tour! I am so excited to be included. I am a huge fan of <a href="http://goinghometoroost.com/" target="_blank">Bonnie Christine's</a> work and the <a href="http://www.liveartgalleryfabrics.com/forestFloor.html" target="_blank">Forest Floor</a> collection is no exception. All of the prints are beautiful, wild, and ethereal. </div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The first project that I wanted to make was the carry-all pincushion from the <a href="http://noodle-head.com/my-book" target="_blank">Handmade Style book </a>by Anna Graham. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is such a handy pincushion with all of the fun pockets to store notions and such in. I used four of some of my favorite prints from the collection.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
All in all, the pincushion is a great useful piece that looks fantastic sitting on my sewing table.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Right after I had found out I'd be in this blog tour, a fellow mom from my daughter's dance class asked if I could make a maxi dress for her sweet girl who only likes to wear long dresses. Well, it just so happened they chose the Wild Posy print in Flora.</div>

After the 'heartbreak' of having to give away the dress of her dreams, I promised to make my daughter a long dress of something I had on hand. I had 'almost' enough of this Clover Grove print in Whisper to make a maxi dress for her. I made the <a href="http://lilluxecollection.com/product/swallowtail-top-and-dress/" target="_blank">Swallow Tail Dress</a> pattern for her by Lil Luxe Collection. This is almost the maxi length (just about an inch or two shorter since we didn't have quite enough fabric).</div>

Lastly, I whipped up a pair of quick pajamas for my little girl. It seems like all of the sudden she doesn't have any warmer weather PJs that fit. I used the <a href="http://www.sewinginnomansland.com/product/bonne-nuit-pattern/" target="_blank">Bonne Nuit</a> pattern from Sewing in no Man's Land. I had a yard of the Flourish Aglow knit already so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to sew it up.</div>

So, I recently purchased a remote for our camera and this is my first attempt at taking my own pictures. I apologize in advance for the super awkward arm placement. Anyway, this is my version of the <a href="https://www.namedclothing.com/shop/inari-crop-tee/" target="_blank">Inari tee dress by Named</a>.</div>

<br />
The dress is a lovely slight cocoon shape, side vents, and a high low hem. The dress is super simple and comes together in a snap. I used some Cotton + Steel rayon for this and I couldn't be happier. I love the drape and simplicity of this dress.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy Weekend everyone! Hope its a good one. We are in a bit of a heat wave here in the desert. We have a high of 108* today! Anyway, on to the sewn goods :) We recently found out one of our friends here was going to be deployed for six months. It all happened rather quickly and his going away party was yesterday. I decided to whip up an <a href="http://noodle-head.com/2012/06/open-wide-zippered-pouch-tutorial-size.html" target="_blank">open-wide pouch by Noodlehead</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made the largest size using some Cotton + Steel for the exterior and some Bonnie and Camille for the interior. If you haven't made this pattern I highly recommend it. It comes together pretty quickly and really does make a wonderful gift. Hopefully this will be useful to our friend in his upcoming travels.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hi there! I have been meaning to write this post up for a couple of weeks now so here we finally go. This wasn't my first time participating in <a href="http://blog.kidsclothesweek.com/" target="_blank">Kids Clothes Week</a> but it has been a few seasons since I had. If you aren't familiar with KCW it's where you sign up to devote at least 1 hour per day during the challenge week to sew for your kiddos. There is always a theme and you may or may not choose to follow it. I usually don't and try to use that week to sew up a new seasonal wardrobe for my daughter. This challenge I wanted to be a little more relaxed about things (not let my house get too awful messy lol).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The first thing that I made up was <a href="http://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-pattern-8101-childs-dress-and-tunic-from-dottie-angel/8101.html#q=dottie%2Bangel&start=1" target="_blank">Simplicity 8101 </a>. Its the kids version of the Dottie Angel Frock. This is view C. I used all Cotton + Steel from the cat lady line. The only changes I made were to not bind all of my inside seams with bias tape (I just thought that'd be too bulky). I will note that the frock does run large. This is a size 3 made for an almost 5 year old. I would suggest if you make it to look more at the finished garment measurements than the size chart measurements (really I do this with any pattern and especially any from the 'big 4'). I made this for a friend's little girl for their family pictures.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2DiJHxGZfltv-VizbDPpjpsXOjiFfKXGLJ4lbfLw-vSVV4YdSXHH9UPwLOJgqVZPgBLKuBLqMQxgWa6a7egzbJSoMZnL37g0XDxMKFrnrH0SP86ZHroGJkP4aWm2wQ9Ja8C9wmx6F4dQ/s1600/IMG_6079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2DiJHxGZfltv-VizbDPpjpsXOjiFfKXGLJ4lbfLw-vSVV4YdSXHH9UPwLOJgqVZPgBLKuBLqMQxgWa6a7egzbJSoMZnL37g0XDxMKFrnrH0SP86ZHroGJkP4aWm2wQ9Ja8C9wmx6F4dQ/s640/IMG_6079.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This next one is the <a href="http://violettefieldthreads.com/products/rosemary-pinafore-slip" target="_blank">Rosemary Pinafore</a> and slip by Violette Field Threads. I used some long hoarded Heather Ross (Far Far away II) for the pinafore and a Robert Kaufman cotton lawn for the slip. This is seriously cute on, the pictures don't do it justice. My daughter absolutely loves it. She even loves just wearing the slip by itself.</div>
<br />

<br />
The last dress I made was the <a href="http://www.welcometothemousehouse.com/product/persimmon-dress-top" target="_blank">Persimmon Dress</a> by Mousehouse Creations. I used some even longer hoarded Heather Ross, Far Far Away double gauze. I bought this before I was even pregnant with my daughter (she's 4.5 now). For the middle I used a scrap of shot cotton I had and pre-made bias for the ties. This dress came together so fast and is so cute!! I will be making more for her for the summer!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi there!! In case you haven't noticed I am a huge fan of <a href="http://noodle-head.com/" target="_blank">Noodlehead patterns</a> (by Anna Graham). This one is the <a href="http://noodle-head.com/product/makerstote" target="_blank">Maker's Tote</a> in the large size. This size is huge! It has so many great details!! The inside pockets are divided on both sides and the tote is self is nice and deep. Oh, and it opens up nice and wide to see all of you goodies!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I knew I was going to keep my hand stitching and appliqué projects in here so I thought it would be a little funny to use this sloth fabric by Sarah Watts for Cotton + Steel. You know, for my slow stitching! Sorry bad joke there. </div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc9rUbEtXGLu6JcTaEhbmnyPyQ0OOKiIFhSk4DercU5yq4Zozdr8fcSKZYsYHb8M81rTUUEZ6J2tkP6YJVc17Sj3kRQo7GUCgKVyO_eNwveyUVKLoE58oGsxaf8tCQeTzeECIWD1EWt5s/s1600/IMG_5475.JPG" imageanchor="1"></a><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway, I am super happy with how this came out. The pattern is pretty involved and a few parts are time consuming (hand stitching the binding) but in the end it is so worth it!! </div>

I hope you all have a great weekend! I know I'm looking forward to following all of the quilt market feeds on Instagram!!!</div>

Way back in the fall (October I believe), I participated in the Schnitzel and Boo mini quilt swap. I think I have done almost every round now except maybe one the summer we moved. Anyway its a secret mini swap hosted by <a href="http://www.schnitzelandboo.com/" target="_blank">Kristi</a> of Schnitzel and Boo on Instagram. It's really a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. My partner loved rational styled quilts out of traditional reproduction fabrics. This was a fun and interesting challenge since I mostly work with modern type fabrics. I found this fun layer cake from French General (the collection name is escaping me at the moment) and I used my Farmer's Wife Sampler book for the blocks. The Farmer's wife blocks finish up at 6" so I chose 9 different blocks to make up the quilt. Since the blocks are so busy I added some sashing with corner stones. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here I was just getting started, You can tell it was October since I have my daughter's costume pattern out too ;)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is what I chose to be my final layout. I did some machine quilting on it around the blocks and sashing and then a little bit of hand quilting to accent the blocks in a cream colored perle cotton.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, I made this waaaaay back in the fall. I've been making tons of things I'm just super bad about taking photos and actually documenting them :/ Oh well. I think instagram doesn't help with the blogging process but I'm going to give it another go anyhow. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway . . . the pattern is the <a href="http://noodle-head.com/" target="_blank">Noodlehead</a> Cargo Duffel. Its free on the <a href="http://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/Cargo_Duffle/" target="_blank">Robert Kaufman</a> website. This is the third one that I have made. And the second out of these exact fabrics lol. This was made at the request of my mom for my aunt (her twin sister). The other one like this I made for her. I used Anna Maria Horner's Pretty Potent and Robert Kaufman Essex yarn dyed in leather for the bottom accent and handles. The inside is plain canvas with bound edges. I chose to leave the snaps off mainly because it kind of scared me to install them. I did just complete one recently that I did install snaps and it really wasn't that big of a deal. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc9rNyPm6muDPI2yjwEOp68n2E6lbmNpUdh1eNmW425km2338JchFZSXMPu3w6LfWDal0q2A6YsI-ErSQiLcYhV3BbDXDxDtNVuhhV8lI4cTzycWmnrIvTWXM0adJ88Hq0SXiJgfmxfLI/s1600/IMG_4911.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="display: inline !important; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc9rNyPm6muDPI2yjwEOp68n2E6lbmNpUdh1eNmW425km2338JchFZSXMPu3w6LfWDal0q2A6YsI-ErSQiLcYhV3BbDXDxDtNVuhhV8lI4cTzycWmnrIvTWXM0adJ88Hq0SXiJgfmxfLI/s640/IMG_4911.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYgi7SaBkae8kTlkHJRS-my5jZOJ6o6vWHOW_UiaHZ7qgLTWKiaBIoqIIIceokMxvCZ7kBGPrsDZmM6ycMuN3tUOoqPtjSVXrJU1DhIcD9z5UYaKHwqzDPpFcsrkVSaf9yroO0hwNvxPw/s1600/IMG_4920.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The pattern is pretty simple and straightforward. The quilting of the pieces probably takes the most time. I do find straight line quilting a bit meditative. As far as putting the whole thing together you just make sure to go slowly and use a pretty big needle (especially for the binding!!).</div>

We just moved across the country to Southern California which would be the reason for my silence. So far we are liking it here, so much different here though. I've been able to sew a few things since we have gotten pretty much settled here. Ill try and get some photos and posts going soon. I just wanted to pop in and update though. Lots more to come :)Corrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05962546365667412808noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4899802854266348.post-5979978985680365602015-04-08T00:00:00.000-07:002016-05-21T15:51:55.947-07:00Bonnie Christine Ribbon Tour<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am so excited to be a part of the Bonnie Christine ribbon tour! <span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Bonnie Christine is a surface pattern designer, mother hen of the </span><a href="http://www.goinghometoroost.com/join-roost-tribe/" style="line-height: 1.38; text-decoration: none;"><span style="color: #1155cc; font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; text-decoration: underline; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Roost Tribe</span></a><span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> and author of </span><a href="http://www.goinghometoroost.com/" style="line-height: 1.38; text-decoration: none;"><span style="color: #1155cc; font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; text-decoration: underline; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Going Home to Roost</span></a><span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> - a blog dedicated to living an extraordinarily creative life. She is inspired by the great outdoors and is passionate about sharing what she knows and creating community around creativity.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This line of ribbons was inspired by a love for nature and sunshine. They represent working in the garden, growing flowers and watching the bees, birds and butterflies take flight. Bonnie most enjoys using the ribbons to add cheer to everyday objects like notebooks, bags, key chains and clothing. Her goal has always been to create patterns that are organic and natural, joyful and lovely. She believes patterns are one of the ways we can express ourselves and make our spaces beautiful.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was so lucky to be able to make a few things from Bonnie's lovely fabric and these equally lovely ribbons. We had a lovely Easter this Sunday and my family and I were able to get out to our local arboretum to take photos of everything.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First up, I made the <a href="https://payhip.com/b/Nbkw" target="_blank">double pocket pouch</a> by Aneela Hoey. She released the pattern last week and when I saw it I just knew I had to make it. I used Bonnie Christine Sweet as honey fabrics paired with her ribbon in Pink & Yellow Sweet Floral. It's really a great sized pouch for carrying small stitching projects and all the fun notions that go along.</div>

Next up (and probably my all time favorite), is a pair of <a href="http://shop.truebias.com/product/mini-hudson-pant" target="_blank">mini Hudson pants</a> by <a href="http://truebias.com/" target="_blank">True Bias</a>. I used the Winged knit fabric for these and added the Pale Pink Butterflies ribbon as kind of a tuxedo stripe detail along the side. I left the drawstring out of these. I really can't say enough about the Art Gallery Fabrics knits they are just perfect, very soft with great stretch and recovery. If you haven't tried them you should. The pants are paired with a <a href="http://figgys.myshopify.com/collections/sewing-patterns-1/products/celestial-tee" target="_blank">Figgy's Celestial tee</a> I made last summer.</div>

Last, is this pinafore made from a vintage pattern. The pattern is Simplicity 2822 from the late 1940s. I modified this pattern a bit from the original. I cut the sleeve flutters down a lot. Changed the back so the buttons only went to the waist and altered the length. I used the winged fabric and the Pale Pink Butterflies ribbon again as a waist detail. <br />

Good Afternoon all! I wanted to share the finished January quilt I had been working on. The baby its intended for is coming a little earlier than expected (today!) so I rushed to finish it up for her. The patten is the January block by Lady Harvatine you can find it <a href="http://ladyharvatine.bigcartel.com/product/january-block" target="_blank">here</a>. It was a really fun pattern to sew up. My first time piecing curves! I used mostly Anna Maria Horner's line folk song with a few of the Cotton + Steel basics mixed in. Its backed in folk song as well (sorry I didn't get a photo of the back). The binding is moda dottie leftover from backing of a quilt I did a while ago. It was 108" backing fabric I think a poplin. </div>
