Megan Nielsen Dove Blouse

Thursday, September 7, 2017

Happy Thursday!!  I have another top to share today.

This is the Dove Blouse by Megan Nielsen sewn up in a Nani Iro double gauze (I'm trying to use my good stuff for once).  I sewed up version 1 in XS.  Since I'm smaller than the 34" bust this is drafted for it is a little bit big especially towards the back and under my arms.  In retrospect I should have accounted for this before jumping in and sewing but it really doesn't bother me too much.

This is a super quick satisfying sew.  There are two other options with flared sleeves which really dress up this top.  I'm a little more casual so I opted not to add those.

We're headed out of town for the weekend but I'm hoping to squeeze in a little sewing today and tomorrow morning :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Grainline Studio Hadley

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

Hi there!  I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!!  I have been sewing like crazy :)  I spent the first part of the year focusing on getting my portfolio beefed up and ready to send out (it is!!), making a skillshare class and not doing much sewing at all.  Now that those are complete I have the urge to sew everything!

This is the Hadley pattern by Grainline Studio.  I sewed up view B with no modifications.  I used some Nani Iro double gauze fabric purchased from Miss Matatabi about a year ago.

I made a size 2 (my bust is 32.5).  I just love how this top hangs with the high low hem.  The arm holes are so perfect, not too low.  The v in front is a little lower than I would normally wear but I really like it.

The neck, arm holes and hem are all faced which gives such a nice clean look on the outside.  I have a few other things planned to sew but may revisit this pattern soon to try view A.  All in all this is a really great pattern and sews up so quickly.

Thanks for stopping by!!
